Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race, taking place on Saturday, September 24th 2016 in Lowell, MA! If you don’t know already, this event is FREE to attend and for ALL AGES!

What is a Kinetic Sculpture Race?

Kinetic Sculptures are all-terrain, human-powered vehicles with an art twist. These engineering feats will be racing through the streets of Lowell, going down the ‘Bone-Shaker Alley’ of Middle Street to the Maddening Mud Pit at the Tsongas Center then off to brave the waters of the Merrimack River at the Heritage State Park/ Sampas Pavilion where they will emerge to race back to the finish line on Market Street.

What you should do!

Wear a costume! Teams will be vying for the coveted People’s Choice Award, so they will be extremely motivated to bribe you with some candy, baked goods, small artwork, stickers or even something wearable.  You are more likely to get a bribe if you are wearing a costume, funny hat, tiara, feather boa, whatever suits your fancy, and we mean f-a-a-a-ncy!

Just to give you an idea of how fa-a-a-a-abulous you could look/should look, meet Kaia, the official Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race Mascot. If you see her on race day, take a selfie with her and she’ll give you some LKSR swag. Make sure to tag us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
