Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race, taking place on Saturday, September 23rd 2017 in Lowell, MA! If you don’t know already, this event is FREE to attend and for ALL AGES!
What is a Kinetic Sculpture Race?
Often referred to as the Triathlon of the Art World, the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race is a creative, family-friendly event comprised of home-engineered kinetic sculptures: all-terrain, human-powered vehicles with an artistic twist. These sculptures will tackle mud, sand, water, gravel and pavement over the course of the day as teams compete against one another. While there is an award for the fastest time to complete the course, the goal of the race is to create an enjoyable, family friendly spectacle for people of all ages and backgrounds.
What you should do?
Wear a costume! Teams will be vying for the coveted People’s Choice Award, so they will be extremely motivated to bribe you with some candy, baked goods, small artwork, stickers or even something wearable. You are more likely to get a bribe if you are wearing a costume, funny hat, tiara, feather boa, whatever suits your fancy, and we mean f-a-a-a-ncy!
